Synopsis
Set against the snowy peaks of Colorado, Shredding Barriers is a documentary set at Ignite Adaptive Sports, a volunteer-run nonprofit that teaches adaptive snow sports to people with disabilities. The film follows Diane, a 67-year-old wheelchair user, through her first season at Ignite as she learns to ski in a sit-ski. Alongside Diane's journey, the film also follows two first-time volunteers, Jeffrey and Lindsey, as they learn the skills and confidence required to teach adaptive athletes, discovering the challenges and deep rewards of the work. Shredding Barriers captures the heart of a community built on empowerment, inclusion, and joy. The film reveals how, on the slopes of Colorado, people are not just learning to ski, they're learning to trust, to connect, and to rewrite the stories they once thought defined them.
